What Are You Carrying in the Business?
You do not need to diagnose the problem, choose a programme, or know what kind of help you need before you come.
Perhaps there is a decision you cannot settle, pressure you cannot explain, an area of the business that is no longer working as it should, a relationship or leadership matter, financial strain, unexpected growth, a transition, a spiritual concern, or simply something you know requires attention.
Bring what is actually happening.
Consecrated Business Ministry begins by listening to the owner and receiving the work as it is presented. We then prayerfully and practically discern what may be happening and what an appropriate next response may be.
You do not have to arrive with the answer. You only need to bring the work.
Start With What You Know
You can bring a symptom without knowing the diagnosis.
For example:
✓ “Sales have suddenly dropped.”
Bring that.
✓ “My team is falling apart.”
Bring that.
✓ “The business is growing, but I don't know whether this opportunity is right.”
Bring that.
✓ “Something feels spiritually wrong, but I cannot explain it.”
Bring that.
✓ “I need to make a major decision.”
Bring that.
✓ “I don't even know how to describe what is happening.”
Bring that too.
What you bring gives us somewhere to begin. It does not predetermine what we will find or what response will follow.
Bring What Is Happening
You don't need to organise the story for us. Start where you are.
Tell us about the business and what has brought you here today. Share what you know, what you have observed, what concerns you, or the decision you are carrying. If you are unsure what matters, simply tell us what has been happening.
We will listen before determining what may need to happen next.
What Happens When You Bring the Work?
We listen before we prescribe a journey.
A business is brought before God and examined with both biblical seriousness and practical attention. We listen to the owner, consider what is happening in the work, and seek to distinguish the presenting concern from what may be happening underneath it.
The issue brought forward may be growth, money, leadership, employees, customers, conflict, governance, succession, a major decision, spiritual pressure or simply uncertainty about what comes next. The presenting issue gives us somewhere to begin; it does not predetermine the response.
From there, the work moves through four simple stages — bringing what is actually happening, discerning what requires attention, responding according to the need revealed, and returning the business to faithful stewardship.
1. BRING
Bring the actual business — not a polished version of it. The questions, pressures, numbers, decisions, relationships and realities matter.
2. DISCERN
We prayerfully and practically examine what is happening. What requires biblical alignment? What is a business issue? What concerns the steward? What may require another kind of expertise?
3. RESPOND
The appropriate response is determined by what has been revealed. That may be prayer, biblical guidance, a resource, a practical action, guided formation or referral to appropriate professional, pastoral or specialist support.
4. RETURN TO THE WORK
The owner remains the steward. What has been discerned and formed must return to the place where it matters — leadership, operations, money, people, decisions and the everyday work of the business.
CBM is not the destination of the business. Faithful stewardship under God is.
Around Every Table
Formation returns to the places where business is actually lived.
Whether in a boardroom, classroom, workshop, farm, studio, or family business, formation must return to the places where business is actually lived. Biblical stewardship is worked out in real decisions, relationships, finances, leadership, operations, opportunities and responsibilities. The work does not end when clarity is gained or a period of formation is completed. It returns with the owner to the everyday life of the business, where what has been discerned before God must now be faithfully lived.
The altar must eventually meet the table.
Business becomes worship when Christ becomes Lord of our work.
Business Becomes Worship
Business becomes worship not merely because Scripture is spoken in the workplace, but because the work itself is surrendered to the lordship of Christ.
The way we lead, employ, price, negotiate, serve, steward money, handle conflict, pursue growth, keep promises and make decisions becomes part of our response to God.
Consecration therefore does not end at the altar.
It becomes visible in the way the business is governed and lived.
"Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving."
